My Fave Holiday

Wow. I don't know how to turn my pix around. Sorry, this is the extent of my blogging capabilities. It's too bad too, because Matt took a couple of great pix and seeing them sideways just doesn't have the same effect... Anyhow, we had a great fourth spent at the Baker Park downtown with some dear friends. I love the fourth. I think it's all the playing outside all day and late into the night. The kids kept saying, as the fireworks were going off overhead in the rain, "this is magical." And it is. I hope the memories they have of the fourth of July are as long-lasting and fond as the ones I have of my childhood!

So, just so everybody knows. Next year, Baker Park is where it's at. I'm just saying. It's hard to get more American than free country concert, awesome downtown park, and a creek to catch crawdads in.

To my man, who doesn't even know how to find this blog. I told my man my family is coming over for dinner on Saturday and what do I find in the fridge Friday morning? Big pork shoulder he is thawing to cook for everyone. He may not have cleaned the toilets (yet), but he's got dinner plans already. Love my man.
